With the anticipation of the start of the Valkyria Chronicles (戦場のヴァルキュリア) anime series, a special event was held at TAF2009 with the staff and cast!

The event was a thrill for many fans, and tickets to the exclusive event disappeared quickly! Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 is a military simulation RPG released in 2008 by Sega. The game became wildly popular and the characters won the high marks amongst gamers.

The director for the anime series ,Yamamoto Yasutaka, was present to answer questions about the series. He commented on how the great cast and story made for smooth production of the series. After introducing the cast and the characters they play, Director Yamamoto spoke of the appeal of unique appeal of the series to anime fans. "The atmosphere of the game was very important. The anime series will follow the broad trend of the game but will also allow them to expand on the original animation in different ways. Elements such as romance, conflict between men and brothers, all make for good drama." The comments from the director seemed to fill the audience with even more anticipation for the anime!

Then a public screening of the Preview Video was played, much to the delight of the audience. But the real surprise followed when Canadian singer HIMEKA gave a live performance of the opening theme song! She said she was very nervous but no one could tell. The audience cheered with passionate enthusiasm at the end of the Valkyria Chronicles Special Stage Event!
